Has anyone ever heard of hydrolic / transmission oil oozing out of the vent hole located under the seat?
Out of the blue it started to do this on my tractor . The oil was milky and almost faomy. I immediately changed the filter and the oil thinking that there might be water in the system making it milky. No traces of water and it still did it after the oil change.
THe problem went away for a year and mysteriously reappeared.
The oil level is fine and the tractor is on level ground.
Upon starting it up when cold it goes through a period of hydrolic difficulty and spewing and then I pull the dipstick and air escapes and everything seems to settle down. Yes the oil is foamy and milky but it does settle down after a while.
There definitely is some air pressure in the resevoir. ???
Any Ideas?

Sounds like the pump might be sucking air. ....

Look for a whole, dent or something on the suction side of the pump. It could be as simple as a o-ring that might be pinched just showing it's ugly head! You might find it by just moving the lines a little. Air will get into holes that won't leak fluids out! ....
